Hello, I'm Sam πŸ‘‹

After seven years in B2B marketing, I had a realisation.Within each vertical, every B2B company has the same features, makes the same promises, and uses the same tools and strategies to market their business. In a world of accessible information and rapid imitation, I figured the only thing companies could do is influence the last one by creating memorable touchpoints.Since then I have ideated, setup, and executed inperson activations for some of the biggest brands across the world. For remote audiences, built a Mixed Reality SaaS platform that allows marketing teams to create memorable visual interactive experiences online.Been recognised by TheDrum100 for my ability to translate these experiences into Business Growth. It’s been fun!I now enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others in the form of newsletters, blogs, and interviews.

80k View πŸ¦…

Back in 2018 I became obsessed with tracking my growth to give me peace of mind that I was on the right path.To do this, I started to quantify my life across the core areas. Designed to get your head out of the weeds and take the 80,000 foot view on life.6 years in I can say not only has it given me perspective but it has also become a beautiful journal of my life. With the emergence of of AI, I decided to develop it into an app and launch 80kView with the intention of helping others calm their anxieties, find purpose, and build an awesome life they can be proud of.Key features:- Manageable - update monthly in under 15 minutes- Discovery - get direction on what to focus on next- Reflect - build a life journal that you can be proud of

The journey

PushFar (2020-2021)

One of the first hire's, joining as a fractional CMO.PushFar is the forward-thinking and innovative mentoring platform, helping individuals and organisations with mentoring, career progression and networking. Was responsible for both B2B (commercial) and B2C (community) growth; setting up the infrastructure and building out a kick-ass marketing team.Didn't just plan but got stuck in & executed on the work too.

Biggest highlights:- Grew company revenue by 700% in Y1 and 149% in Y2.- Grew the PF community from 4,000 to 110,000 people- Working alongside a very talented CEO in Ed Johnson.Biggest lessons:- Don't spread yourself too thin. Focus on one channel first.- You can crush your VC-backed competitors with creativity and commitment- Selling to HR/L&D teams naturally has longer-sales cycles.

Thirsty Thoughts (2018-2020)

Back in 2018 my good friend Eddy asked if I wanted to try and make a business out of building drinks robots. The thought of building a business around mind-controlled beer robots sounded ludicrous yet enticing so the next day we got to work. After a successful first year we released a gesture-controlled champagne pouring robot and continued to run multiple activations around the world. This kick started my career in experiential marketing.

Biggest highlights:- Running 3x activations in Copenhagen, Athens, and Lisbon at the same time.- Personally getting invited by Brent Hoberman to Founders Fourm.- Making it into the TheDrumsBD100Biggest lessons:- B2B companies have a lot of money for marketing- Founders agreements & written contracts are a must

Crosffire Paintball (2011-2012)

In 2011 we invested in an inflatable 100ft x 25ft paintball arena with the vision of running it at festivals up and down the country and that's exactly what we didWe ran multiple activations up and down the country including Nass, Sundown, and Download festival and a private party at Adele's house. This kick started my career in events.

Biggest highlights:- Getting to work with my dad and little brother (who just happens to be a semi-pro paintballer)- Getting to see many live artists and bands when the work was done - my favourite was Sub Focus and it was the summer they had just released 'Tidal Wave'.- Running a test event with the boys and shooting the sh*t out of each otherBiggest lessons:- Events are A LOT of backbreaking work and stress. Still good fun but maybe for the young folks out there.- No matter how many safety rules and regulations you have drunk people will not listen. Drunks customers are not good.
